The Shaun Doss Miracle Fund is a cause to raise money for stem cell treatment. It is very close to my heart, after all it is my son that is a candidate for stem cell treatment. But there is no way my Wife and I can Afford it and after talking to other families I have found there are several other families in the valley that need our help as well. Below is the story about my son and the start of the non profit company.
Shaun Doss is a seven year old boy who is paralyzed from the chest down because of a car accident, do to a red light runner and defected seat belt. The accident was 3 years ago, one week before Shaun’s 4th birthday. Shaun spent several months in the hospital with a severe head injury that caused memory loss and speech impediment. Since then Shaun has been through countless physical and speech therapies. He has seen several Doctors and specialists all for the Doss family to receive the same response “I’m very sorry, there is nothing we can do for him”. Shaun’s family started to lose hope of Shaun ever having a normal life again, until recently His parents discovered Stem Cell Research in Panama City, Panama. The doctors of the Stem Cell Research Clinic contacted Mr. and Mrs. Doss and gave them the most incredible news they had heard in three years. The Doctor told them that Shaun is a perfect candidate for the stem cell procedure and there is a very promising chance of Shaun having full mobility in his legs. They also told them that the sooner Shaun can have this done the better the results will be. Shaun’s parents have decided to go forward in having this procedure done to their young son, but they cannot go until they raise the money of $50,000.
